About Student Placements

A student placement with Forensic Intervention Services offers individuals an opportunity to explore and develop the necessary skills required for a successful career in forensic rehabilitation, gaining first-hand experience working in a service that delivers best-practice, clinical services to people in prison and in the community.

As a clinical placement student, you’ll engage in service delivery through forensic clinical observations, case formulation, and group-based treatment, all while supported by expert staff through clinical supervision and professional development.

As a non-clinical placement student, you’ll gain an understanding of the professional practice settings of a forensic environment, while learning about the broader legislative and judicial systems that frame service delivery within these forensic environments. Students may also be engaged in projects that work towards improving service delivery through research and evaluation.
