Specific matters considered
Reforms to health regulation in Victoria regarding Assisted Reproductive Treatment
Department of Health representatives provided an overview of consultations for ‘Reforms to health regulation in Victoria’, such as amendments to the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Act (2008).
Members provided feedback on the proposed legislative reforms.
Anti-vilification reforms consultations
Representatives from the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) presented an overview of feedback from 2023 consultations to inform anti-vilification legislative reforms.
This included specific feedback received with respect to LGBTIQA+ communities.
LGBTIQA+ considerations for Adoption Services
Adoption Services from DJCS provided an update on Adoption Services practices in relation to the Adoption Act 1984 and LGBTIQA+ communities.
Justice Health reforms
DJCS Justice Health representatives provided an overview of current reform projects.
This includes a Women’s Custodial Healthcare Evaluation, the Youth Justice Primary Healthcare Quality Framework and the Forensic Mental Health Recommissioning project.
Implementation of the Youth Justice Strategic Plan 2020–2030
Representatives from DJCS attended to provide an update on implementation of the Youth Justice Strategic Plan 2020–2030 and the role of the Youth Justice LGBTIQA+ Expert Advisory Group.
