Grants for gambling research – 2025 round open
The grants for gambling research program seeks further investigation of gambling in Victoria using comparative and secondary analyses of data from The Victorian population gambling and health study 2023 (VPGHS).
To enable the department to better understand the impact of a range of factors on gambling harm across groups within the community, applications are invited under the theme community impacts of gambling.

Research projects in progress
2021 and 2022 grants rounds
Research proposals that were awarded funding in 2021 and 2022 are underway. These research projects are exploring:
- people’s journeys towards, and away from, gambling harm with the intention of helping to inform the development of future approaches to gambling harm in the Victorian community
- the impact of COVID-19 on gambling in Victoria.
